Jessica Buthmann

Jessica Buthmann received her PhD in Behavioral and Cognitive Neurosciences from the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center in 2021. As a graduate student she studied facets of prenatal maternal stress related to a natural disaster, Superstorm Sandy, and child emotional development. Completing her dissertation work during the U.S. COVID-19 pandemic surge motivated Jessica to pursue postdoctoral work in the SNAP lab studying prenatal COVID-19 experiences and child development. The goal of this work is to understand the psychological toll of the pandemic and the prenatal origins of psychopathology risk in the framework of the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) Hypothesis.
