Lauren Borchers

Lauren is a second year graduate student in the Stanford Neurodevelopment, Affect and Psychopathology lab. Broadly, Lauren is interested in the intergenerational transmission of psychopathology and the neural correlates of depression. Her research assesses how varying levels of maternal depression and anxiety impact infant white matter microstructure at birth and the role of the cerebellum in relation to depressive symptomatology in adolescents. Prior to joining the lab, Lauren investigated the neural bases of reading and language development in children born preterm using diffusion and quantitative MRI.
