Lauren Borchers

Lauren is a fourth-year graduate student in the Stanford Neurodevelopment, Affect and Psychopathology lab. Broadly, Lauren is interested in trajectories of brain circuits following early life stress and subsequent symptoms of psychopathology. Her prior work in the lab investigated how varying levels of maternal depression impacted infant white matter microstructure at birth and the role of the cerebellum in relation to internalizing and externalizing symptoms in adolescents. Before joining the SNAP lab, Lauren investigated the neural bases of reading and language development in children born preterm using diffusion and quantitative MRI.
