Peter Clasen

Peter received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. He was a postdoc in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences through a National Institute of Mental Health Institutional Fellowship (T32) and is now at the University of Washington. Peter is interested in the development of cognitive control biases associated with depression and understanding how these biases predict depression symptom dynamics over time. Peter is integrating cognitive, neural, and experience sampling methods to explore how difficulty filtering negative information from working memory predicts the experience of more persistent sadness in day-to-day life among depressed patients.
